Alumni are essential to the mission of Phi Kappa Tau. They are committed to championing a lasting brotherhood that provides opportunities to build valued relationships and support the continued growth of our Fraternity. Phi Kappa Tau promotes meaningful programs, benefits, services and communications at the local, regional and national level.

They are the lifelong stakeholders of the Fraternity as a result of the relationships they build with the gifts of their time, talent and resources. The passion and loyalty one develops during his time as an undergraduate member continues through his life as an alumnus.

The Cal State Fullerton chapter of Phi Kappa Tau has over 970 alumni, dating back to the chapter's founding in 1960 on the campus of then-Orange County State College. Founders of the Sigma Phi Omega local fraternity were instrumental in establishing the Greek system on campus, and were also organizers of the early Elephant Races and "Day of the Titan" which put the college on the map from 1962 to 1965. In 1966, the "Sigs" became the first 'local' organization to affiliate with a national fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, by becoming it's 87th chapter, Gamma Omicron.
